چکیده
Tomato is one of the important vegetables grown all over world for its nutritious and economic value. Varietal improvement high yielding, pest resistance tolerance, drought tolerance processing quality traits are vital thereby to enhance production productivity crop. Due lack improved varieties in study area, local tomato challenged very limited. Hence, identification that adaptable, yielding disease resistant crucial before dissemination boost area. Therefore, this experiment was conducted at Arba Minch evaluate ten yield components under irrigation condition using randomized complete block design replicated three times. ANOVA result indicated there a significant variation among tested studied parameters. The mean total number fruits plant-1 varied from 4991.1 11,215 kg ha-1 13.33 36.53 plant-1, respectively. ‘Melkashola’ scored highest marketable (9,438 ha-1) (11,216 being followed by ‘Bishola’ (8,756 ‘Melkasalsa’ (8,367 ha-1). On other hand, ‘Miya’ with moderately might also be regarded as potential varieties. first recommended cultivation area similar agro-ecology. Int. J. Agril. Res. Innov. Tech. 12(1): 79-83, June 2022

In vitro flowering and fruiting in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)
In vitro flowering and fruiting were induced in plants regenerated from calli of leaf explants of Lycopersicon esculentum var. Pant 11. MS medium supplemented with 2 mg/l BAP displayed the best response followed by MS with 2 mg/l BAP, 1 mg/ l ABA and 0.5 mg/l IAA. Flower buds were developed both directly from callus and regenerated plantlets from leaf explants under 16 h (39.3 μmol m-2s-1) phot...

Simulation of dry matter accumulation and the distribution of crop growth is an important means of predicting yield. In this study, a variety of cultivars of the processing tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.), sowing dates and densities were tested. By analyzing the quantitative relationships between growth and physiological development time (PDT) based on a knowledge model, dry matter parti...

BACKGROUND To date, there is no effective vaccine or no effective drug for mass chemoprophylaxis against malaria. Thus, proper know-how and use of prevention methods is crucial. This study aims to assess the knowledge and practice of malaria prevention methods among the residents of Arba Minch area, Southern Ethiopia. METHODS A community-based cross-sectional study that utilized a two-stage s...
متن کاملCombining Ability Estimates for Yield Some Traits in Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum L.) by Line×Tester
12 single crosses (F1) achieved by combining four testers and three commercial lines of tomato were evaluated for their response to water deficit stress and the combining ability of yield and some yield components. The layout was split plots according to randomized complete block design with three replications and three irrigation levels (FC, 60%FC and 40%FC). Crossing among lines and test...
متن کاملidentification and characterization of quantitative trait loci related to chemical traits in tomato (lycopersicon esculentum mill.)
traits such as soluble solids content, fruit acidity, ph, fruit lycopene concentration, fruit beta-caroteneconcentration, and fruit xanthophyll concentration are very important to the tomato industry. in this study, quantitative trait loci (qtl) analysis of these traits was performed using a recombinant inbred line (ril)population derived from a cross between a tomato (lycopersiconesculentum mil...
